The Rivery and Rivery Park
Georgetown, Texas
The Rivery is a 280 acre multi-use development in Georgetown, Texas located on the west side of Interstate 35, bordered on the north and west by the San Gabriel River. The project includes a new wet pond in a regional municipal park along the river frontage with multi-use development at the higher elevations and over 4600 L.F. of sidewalk and pedestrian paths.

UDG provided design of utility, street, sidewalk, drainage and stormwater treatment facilities for the retail and multifamily multi-use project. The project included over 4600 linear feet of sidewalk, 10,260 linear feet of 8”, 10” and 12” wastewater collection lines, 9,500 feet of 12” and 16” water lines and 9,000 feet of roadways with the associated drainage improvements (storm sewer system and new water quality ponds).

In addition, UDG designed plans for 3050 L.F. of new frontage road acceleration/deceleration lanes on the IH-35 frontage road including 1800 L.F. of complete frontage road reconstruction to correct pre-existing vertical alignment defi ciencies. UDG worked closely with TxDOT through all phases of the design, permitting and construction of these improvements. The project is situated on the Edwards Recharge Zone requiring permits for wastewater collection system construction and treatment of urban runoff. In addition to temporary erosion controls for the construction period UDG designed two “wet” ponds to provide treatment of the stormwater runoff from the project. One of the wet ponds is situated in a park requiring that the design be integrated into the existing park functions and requiring a pond design which is an asset to the park, both visually and as an educational amenity.
